Universal Studios Orlando-New York

Universal Studios New York is the perfect name for this section of Universal as the area recreates the streets of its namesake with classic architecture that resemble old world New York as well as modern day city streets. The rides and show are just as carefully designed to take advantage of every inch of space to both thrill you and entertain you.

Twister-Ride it Out:  Entering into the Universal Studios Twister ride you are channeled through a series of props from the 1996 movie starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.  AS you shuffle along in the lines you are treated to misting fans right before you enter the town of Wakita, Oklahoma whose population is a whopping 585 souls.  The show consists of three different theaters each with its own specific show, but all are part of the total package.  In the first theater you will hear Bill and Helen talk about the different special effects and stunts that were used in the production of Twister.  Next up is Aunt Meg's house after it has been hit by the Tornado, look up and see the car sticking out of the roof.  Finally in the third theater you will get your chance to experience the full effects of a 5 story high tornado complete with flying cows and incredible special effects.  You will get wet in this show so be prepared to hang on as the storm rages right in front of your eyes.

Universal Studios Revenge of the Mummy

Revenge of the Mummy:  While this might not be one of the fastest roller coasters in Universal Studios, it will definitely give you a thrill.  There are plenty of drops and turns along with a high speed launch into pitch black darkness.  This ride though is not all about speed and thrills there are parts where you car slows down as you are treated to a variety of scenes from the Mummy movies.  There are plenty of creepy scarabs and crazed mummy warriors who seem bent on killing every living being to keep you on the edge of your seat as you rumble along.  Full of physiological thrillers this ride will have you screaming in record time complete with well placed drops and plenty of out of your seat hang time.

The Blues Brothers Live: Is one big party on Delancey Street as Jake and Elwood take you on a musical rock-n-roll trip you will never forget.  This Universal Studios live show features Jake and Elwood performing live on an outdoor stage covering all the songs made popular in the original movie The Blues Brothers and is not to be missed.

Whether it’s a hair rising ride that will leave you feeling blown away or a rock tribute show that has you rocking on the streets you can find in the streets of New York.(Images on this page Courtesy of Alex Winner, Jared and Dena)
